Yissi Community Action and Development Organization (YICADO)
Yissi Community Action and Development Organization (YICADO) is a non-profit, community-driven organization founded in 2023 and officially registered in Uganda as a Company Limited by Guarantee [with registration number 80034828398565] Born from a deep commitment to our community, we started with a clear goal: to empower vulnerable groups for self-reliance and lasting positive change. We focus our efforts on supporting children, women and youth by providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to build a better future.
Our work is guided by our vision of “A Society that Unites, Transforms and Develops the Communities” and our mission of “Promoting and empowering healthier communities for self-reliance and sustainable development.” We implement integrated programs in key areas including Community Health, Education, Water and Sanitation (WASH), Resilient Livelihoods, and Environmental Protection.
We believe that sustainable development is only possible when the community itself is at the center of the process to address root causes of poverty and inequality.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- To promote access to safe water, sustainable sanitation, hygiene practices and waste management.
- To promote Community health through access to HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria prevention, care, treatment, support services and access to sexual reproductive health, maternal and child services.
- To increased agricultural productivity, market for valuable crops and food security.
- To economically empower rural communities and provide opportunities for women to develop a set of core skills and access financial support to operate sustainable Income Generating Activities through established VSLAs.
- To provide the youth and women in the community with marketable skills for self-employment and enrich income generating opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.
- To promote girl child education by supporting girls in schools to reduce the rate of illiteracy.
- To promote efficient management and protection of the environment to achieve sustainable development.
- To increase awareness and distribution of renewable energy products like improved cook stove, solar home systems.
- To advocate for equal opportunities and rights for women, children and youth.
